Hi, I’m Mark
We have all dreamed of soaring like an eagle, looking down on the beautiful landscape below. As a professional pilot for over 30 years, I have seen the many splendors of the world from above and would now like to share these unique images with you. With the help of my team, my two drones, I can now share images, both still and video, from a perspective not normally seen.
I am fully Insured, have my Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) with CASA and operate under their safety procedures. This may mean I am restricted with some of my flying but safety is very important to me. I conduct risk management before and during every flight to get you the great shots, safely.
Now everybody can have a new perspective of the world.
I hope you enjoy A Bird’s Eye View 4U.
Our second member of the team is Merlin. He is pretty chilled and IS the drone you are looking for. A DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone with a lot of modern features. With a 20 megapixel Hasselblad camera with a 1″ CMOS sensor with aperture control and can shoot video in 4k UHD, Merlin is a very capable drone. Flight time average is 25 minutes, so with my three batteries Merlin can fly for approximately 75 minutes. He is fitted with multi-directional sensors to stop him bumping into objects and has GPS stabilisation and tracking. His name comes from his magical powers and was a callsign I used whilst flying in the Air Force. Merlin is registered with CASA and the FAA in the USA. And that’s a lot of A’s.
Merlin loves to travel the world but doesn’t like aggressive seagulls.
This is ‘Thunder’
The third member of the team is Thunder, a DJI Phantom 4 drone with a 12 megapixel camera and can also shoot video in 4k. Thunder is the bigger of my two drones, weighing in at 1.3kg, can fly for approximately 20 minutes per battery and is very easy to ‘hand’ launch/retrieve if there isn’t a suitable launch pad available (on the beach or on a boat). This fella is also named after a call sign I used in the Air Force. Thunder is registered with CASA.
In addition to his size, Thunder is a bit more stable than Merlin, both in flying and his personality.
